Chillin’ in the desert… dessert…? Most misspelled word in the English language?

This one has cracked me up for years.  Around the world, people are eating deserts and sweating it out in the dessert.  Far be it from me to ask what’s so hot about chocolate mousse or why you would want to eat sand.  What’s notable about this instance, you may ask… JuniorBean spotted this one.  Like Mom like son, he laughed and said, hey mom, why are they advertising a desert?

I’m not quite sure who they have buying desert in this place (I mean, really, it’s all around who needs to pay for it?!), but we enjoyed the sign nonetheless.

Actually it brings to mind my thoughts every time we leave the confines of our city.  Driving along the highway you see a strip of trees and grass like 2 feet wide and beyond that desert as far as the eye can see.  At any rate, here’s hoping you’re seeing the desert rather than eating it!

Happy Dessert!

  1. So delighted to know it continues for the next generation! At least we can usually figure out what those signs are saying! But what fun finding these little gems! Way to go Jr. Bean!
